Surgery to "deepen" the voice

Surgery to lower vocal pitch (“deepen” the voice) is indicated for individuals who wish to achieve a deeper, fuller voice in a consistent and stable manner. This may be desired for aesthetic, functional, or gender-affirming reasons. In some cases, even after appropriate voice therapy, vocal pitch remains higher than desired, and surgery may be a safe and effective alternative.
